Christmas Tree Recycling with KTMB

December 26 – January 16

9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful is underway with its annual Christmas Tree Recycling campaign. Community members are asked to make a minimum donation of $3.00 to support the program; new this year, NV Energy will match all donations dollar for dollar (up to $10,000), ensuring the 21-year program will continue in the future. Recycled trees are chipped into mulch and used in parks, river and open space projects to prevent weed growth, soil erosion and help with water retention.

You can recycle your tree at any of the following local locations:
 - Bartley Ranch Regional Park in South Reno
 - Rancho San Rafael Park in North Reno
 - Shadow Mountain Sports Complex in Sparks

Please remove all foreign matter from trees including tinsel and other decorations, wire, nails, tree stands and plastic bags prior to drop-off. Wreaths, yard waste, and flocked or plastic trees are not accepted.

Join us for our second annual Landscape Awards Tour. It’s a great opportunity to get inspired by the beauty and functionality of water-efficient landscapes. In 2011, we will be partnering with Truckee Meadows Community Forestry Coalition to provide tree care demonstrations at each of the tour stops.
